Founded in 1972 by Trevor Hodgkinson and Neville Marsh, in the newly acquired buildings that were to become the Pump House Theatre and Arts The Pump House Jazz Club is now entering its 50th year and continues to be successful with a variety of exciting Traditional Jazz Bands and a wonderful social atmosphere.

Tenement Jazz Band - Burns Night Event
From Edinburgh this traditional jazz band was formed in the early 90s by musicians from different areas of Scotland through their mutual love of New Orleans music and their aim is to capture the raw energy of early jazz.
Rainey's Revue immerse yourself in Ma Rainey's nostalgic songs and melodies of the 1920s and 30s for a captivating experience. Led by Richard Exall on sax & Dom Barnett piano enjoy a selection of her well known classic jazz tunes.
Sarah Spencer's Transatlantic Band - Widely travelled across USA and the UK Sarah brings her outstanding band to play music from the dance halls of New Orleans in the 20s and 30s
Richard Exall Shooting Stars
Led by Richard Exall's stunning clarinet playing and with the front line musicians all ex-Chris Barber members, an evening of outstanding jazz awaits the audience
Windy City Weather Birds - These three brothers and three friends are 'top notch' young musicians having studied at Greenwich Conservatoire for Music. Their admiration for each others music and love of swing and Dixieland styles of Bobby Hackett, Louis Armstrong, etc. makes for an exciting sound.

Paula Jackman's Jazz Masters - Paula's band plays Dixieland from it's roots in New Orleans through to the British Trad Boom with her great musicians. They enjoy being together and ensure the audience feel that enjoyment too.
John Maddocks Jazz band - St Patrick's Night Event - The unique style of this band, well known for its drive, professionalism and cohesiveness, is brought about mainly by John's clarinet playing originally inspired by Johnny Dodds and encompasses influences from all over the traditional jazz spectrum.
T J Johnson Quartet - Great pianist and entertainer TJ, backed by his London-based musicians, plays an extraordinary blend of music transcending the bounds of jazz, soul, blues, gospel, etc. bringing the band and audience together in an intimate yet exciting atmosphere.
Dave Browning's Jazz cats - Taking his inspiration from Harlem and the Fats Waller crowd around the rent parties, Dave entertains us with his fabulous stride playing backed by his talented band. A night not to be missed !
