Comedy Hotspot

Join us for another fantastic Watford Comedy Night at the Pump House. We’ve teamed up with Comedy Hotspot to bring you some of the best stand-up acts currently doing the national comedy circuit. May's line-up features:
MAUREEN YOUNGER
Maureen is frank, fast, feisty, sharp and engaging – honest humour with attitude! She works as a stand up comedian and compere all around the UK and abroad and even gigs in German! As an experienced compere, Maureen is known for her quick wit and sharp audience interaction. In the UK she is one of the few (if only) comedians who works regularly on the mainstream, urban and gay comedy circuits. Her gigs have ranged from being the support act for the entire West End run of The Naked Magicians at the Trafalgar Studios as well as one of the warm up acts for Puppetry of the Penis to performing at the Barbican alongside Arthur Smith; supporting Shazia Mirza on tour as well as being one of the acts at the Jamaica vs The World gigs at the Shepherds Bush Empire. (Maureen was representing the latter category!)
EDDY BRIMSON
To say East Ender Eddy Brimson has a colourful past is something of an understatement. A self-confessed former football hooligan before turning his hands to better use as a writer and comedian, Eddy has written a host of amusing anecdotal books, penned and hosted a top three selling video ‘Teargas and Tantrums’, and is also a regular “talking head’ for numerous radio and TV shows on subjects as diverse as football, dodgy builders and sexy baldness. As an actor, he has appeared on such diverse programmes as Absolutely Fabulous, The Thin Blue Line, Casualty, The Bill and EastEnders, where he played, you’ve guessed it, an East End villain, who torched Frank’s car lot. Eddy was also a presenter on the Bravo TV show The Basement covering topics as varied as the British Lawn Mower Grand Prix to a live hair transplant. Eddy is a prolific writer, having penned seven best-selling books. With sales topping 160, 000, Eddy has built himself a cult following among British and European football fans.
AARON SIMMONDS
Aaron Simmonds has been failing to stand up for 30 years; luckily he is far better at comedy than standing up. He has a unique perspective on life, usually of people's belly buttons, which gives him stories to tell, and a sore neck. Simmonds’s comedic style is story-based, with clever one-liners interspersed throughout. He offers sharply-observed comedy which is grounded in his disability, but is by no means limited by it. Aaron performed his critically-acclaimed debut show, Disabled Coconut, at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2019.
MICHAEL AKADIRI
Michael’s natural charm and cheeky, observational style has already seen him make an impact on the UK comedy scene. He’s the inaugural winner of the Komedia New Comedy Award and starred in the London finals of the BBC New Comedy Awards in 2021 (BBC Three). Michael’s burgeoning TV Career has seen him feature on the latest series Comedy Central LIVE (Comedy Central), The Stand Up Sketch Sho
